The Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. It is an iconic and much photographed structure, shaped like the sails of a ship. The hotel is unofficially billed at a remarkable 7 stars, although critics are forever squabbling over whether these are merited or not. The service and amenities are all top-notch. The staff ensure personalized attention and ensure all your requirements are met. The fabulous Al Muntaha restaurant offers a glorious view over Dubai, as does the 18th floor pool. Room rents are upwards of $1000 a night.
