Booked hotel online on THEIR website, printed out confermation. Upon arrival I presented my credit card of which he ran for $126.11 higher than room total for entire weekend, then upon decline of that he ran it for $144.67 higher than TOTAL room rate, declined again as we only were doing this room for a total of $172.50 on this card. He asked for another card of which he then ran for $226.92 higher than the TOTAL room rate. Went straight upstairs called my banks in regards to all of this. Went straight back down to him and discussed this politely with him for him to tell us all he can do is check us out and refund us, which will take several days! All of this happening on a Friday night New Years Eve, stranding us in Canada with no access to funds back home as with all of these transaction it froze our accounts for til next business day(Monday). And now with no hotel too. What a way to welcome us up from the states! Calling now to discuss matter with General Manager Sonya Wagnor, as there was no other managers or owners available to talk to on Friday night about 4:30 during all of this. Funny how website even states "At the family-owned Dilworth Inn we know it all adds up to a perfect stay, which is why we take such care to make sure the unexpected touches are never overlooked." ? REALLY? think they overlooked ALOT! All she can say is "Sorry this happened to you" "There is nothing I can do about it" "Several days gone by" when we were told we would have to wait til Monday to take to her or anyone hire up. Informed by her that it is NOT a family owned company like the brochure states, it is a company and that she is the highest at General Manager. So all we get is put out on our ass for the weekend as we didn't agree to them overcharging our Credit Cards. That's it...a sorry this happened. Think they need to look up Customer Service Skills and apply for some!
