This past December, my husband and I stayed at Casa Colonial Cary y Nilo for the second time, this time with our 2-year old. We can't say enough good things about this beautiful colonial casa particular and its amiable hosts. The casa is conveniently located in Central Havana within short distance of the city's major sites--steps away from the gorgeous Malecon seawall, and a short walk from Old Havana, Chinatown, Vedado and the Hotel Nacional. The casa itself is an elegant high-ceilinged colonial home with lovely old wood furnishings. Both of the two rooms are equipped with private bathrooms and have long wooden shutters that open up onto an enclosed open-air corridor, adorned with tropical plants, that leads to the dining room and sitting room. The house is spotless and cleaned on a daily basis. Cary and Nilo are trustworthy, warm and charming hosts who also helped us plan trips to nearby Cuban towns/villages. They welcomed our little boy with great enthusiasm and were extremely solicitous about our family's needs, which made a world of difference since traveling with a young child can be more challenging. Staying at this casa made our trip even more memorable and we will continue going back on future trips to Havana. --Linda from Montreal, Canada
